What is an escape room?
It’s sort of like a movie, except instead of watching it, you’re living it! Working together with the rest of your team, you’ll explore this uniquely themed room and solve puzzles, decipher clues, and try to escape before your time hits zero! An escape room is ideal for corporate team-building, hosting an unforgettable party, or just having a fun night out with family and friends!
What are you doing differently during the pandemic?
We are taking extra precautions to keep everyone safer. Please read our Safety page for full details.
How do I book for a corporate event?
What should I wear?
Due to the current pandemic and for the safety of our guests and staff, we are requesting that everyone wear a mask at all times while in our facility.
There is no specific dress code, but remember—you’ll be exploring an ancient Egyptian tomb, so things may get a little dusty. We recommend at least close-toed shoes for this expedition, and perhaps a talisman to protect against curses.
Will we be playing in the dark?
Not exactly! Our goal is to make it feel as if you’re living your own movie, and to make that possible, you may experience some lighting (and sound) effects while inside, including moments of dim or flashing lights. If you have any concerns about playing, contact us beforehand or simply talk to your game master. Ultimately, we want to make sure you feel safe and have fun!
Will we be locked in?
No, you are free to leave the room at any time! However, the clock will continue running, so we highly recommend taking care of all business beforehand so as not to jeopardize your chances of a true escape!
When should I arrive?
County health requirements do not allow us to have guests waiting in our lobby area due to the current pandemic. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before your showtime; if you do arrive earlier than that, kindly wait in your vehicle until we can receive you.
Try to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled showtime. This should give you and your team enough time to use the restroom and get briefed before going into the room.
What if I arrive late?
Like a movie, our rooms have specific start times and adhere to a tight schedule, so if you arrive late we cannot hold your room! You will still be allowed to play, but your time and your fun will be shortened.
Can I bring food?
We ask that food and drinks be finished or put away before playing our rooms, however, if you cannot make it the full hour, you can leave and return to the room at any point. Luckily, we are within walking distance of a ton of great restaurants—Bawarchi Biryanis, Black Bottle Brewery, and Totally 80’s Pizza to name just a few—so if you’re hungry afterwards you don’t have to look far!
Where are you located?
We are on the southwest corner of the intersection of Prospect and College, in the far back corner of the parking lot. We share our parking lot with Black Bottle Brewery, Bawarchi Biryanis, Lime Light Fitness, and Gallipott Salon.
Is there a minimum/maximum number of players?
We have a minimum of two (2) people per escape. Maximum number of people in the Tomb Of The Forgotten is eight (8).
During this time while we are all affected by the pandemic, all escape experiences will be private, so you can reserve a time slot for 2 to 8 people. You will not be joined by other groups.
I told someone I was going and now they want to come too. Can I add them to my group?
So long as we haven’t reached our cap of 8 people, they are welcome to join your group. They must pay and be added prior to arriving for the escape experience. Please email us at email@example.com or call us at 970-449-9792 to add individuals to your reservation.
Do I have to share the room, or can I request a private show?
At this time, all shows are private only. You will not share the room with anyone outside of your party.
Does everyone in my group have to pay together, or can we all pay separately?
Because all of our shows are now private, as soon as a booking is made, no one else may make a booking for the same time slot. If there are more people to add to your group who will be paying separately, they will need to call The Markey at 970-449-9792 and provide us with the name the booking was made under, the time of the booking, and their payment information prior to arriving for the show.
My plans have changed and I can't make my booking! What do I do?
First off, don’t panic! If you are sick, please do not come to The Markey. Simply give us a call, or have someone in your party call The Markey, and we will reschedule you at no additional cost even if you have to drop out at the last minute before showtime. For all other reasons, we request that you let us know as soon as your plans have changed so that we can free up the slot and schedule you for another time. For the time being, rescheduling fees will be waived.
If you need to cancel your booking and are not able to reschedule, we charge a 10% cancellation fee to cover credit card and bank fees. Cancellations can only be accepted with at least 24 hours notice.
No-shows will not be rescheduled or refunded, so please contact us as soon as you are aware of your changing schedule.
Do I qualify for student price?
If you attend classes, you qualify. It doesn’t matter if it’s at a high school, middle school, CSU (or any other college or university, in state or out of state), FRCC, or any other institution of learning. It doesn’t matter if you’re taking classes in person or online. You qualify! If you are a student over the age of 10, select “Student” when booking. For anyone between the ages of 5 and 10, select “Child” when booking.
Can children play?
Yes! We love having children participate, so much so that we offer them a special price!
Older children are more likely to enjoy the room, while some younger children may be frightened of the atmospheric lighting and sound/visual effects.
Birthday parties and groups of children are welcome but we ask that at least one adult purchase a ticket and be present with them in the room during the game.
What if I want to book for a time that's closed?
We are closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. However, we sometimes book escapes by appointment only for those days. The cost is a fixed price of $199 per escape, regardless of how many people are in your group. We do not offer discounts for these days. If you would like to make a reservation for a day when we are normally closed, please give us a call at 970-449-9792, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
